The Balmain Scholarship Contest Regulation

Balmain is awarding 1 full scholarship for the 3-year Fashion Design Bachelor’s programme at the Paris School.

The enrollment fee is still due for each year.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Apply for their first year of a 3-year Undergraduate course at Istituto Marangoni Paris in the academic year 2022/2023.
  • Present 6 creative ideas, including drawings and mood boards, answering the question: How do you see and interpret the Maison Balmain?

Deadline

Applications must be submitted between 1 June 2022 and 30 June 2022. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Required Documents

To apply for the scholarship, candidates must submit the following documents:

  • Copy of passport
  • CV (in English)
  • Motivation Letter (in English)
  • High School or University grades (the ones obtained so far)
  • English Language Certificate - For non-English native speakers: certificate of language skills, level b2 of CEFR with specific requirements (e.g. IELTS 6.0 without elements below 5.5 or equivalent test or qualification.
  • Portfolio of 6 creative ideas - Can be anything that visually describes their inspiration and the area of study that they have chosen. They can be submitted in the form of sketches, drawings, photographs, mood-boards and collages. The 6 creative ideas might also be a mix of these. They can also be a personal reinterpretation of objects, environments, people, situations, etc. or design ideas such as a representation of personal creations such as outfits/fashion collections, objects, furniture pieces, interior spaces, etc. according to the desired course you are applying to. All items must be submitted in A4 or A3 format, in .pdf, .tiff, .jpg, .zip.

Aimed at French and international passport holder entrants for 2022/2023.

How to apply

Students need to upload all of the requested documents before the deadline. 1 full scholarship will be awarded on a selective basis to students who accept to enrol in an eligible 3-year Undergraduate Programme at Istituto Marangoni Paris for the October intake of 2022/2023, 2023/2024, or 2024/2025.
